Multi Unit Friction Damper with 4 Friction Joints

The Multi Unit Friction Dampers are based on a rotational friction concept like all Damptech dampers. The dampers can be installed, for example, in frame structures as V-Bracing, Diagonal Bracing, or Panel Dampers. The dampers are connected to the structure with pin connections on both sides.

Our 2-level damper offers a versatile solution for different levels of earthquake intensities, ranging from medium to strong earthquakes. We have extensively tested and evaluated several models both experimentally and numerically to ensure that our damper meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Damptech has also significant experience in Base Isolation.  Our Base Isolation systems use our V dampers, which can be calibrated for high capacities and high displacements. The dampers are installed as a hybrid system: using Damptech dampers and elastomer isolation pads.

Damptech has also created a damper that combines the benefits of the rotational friction damping with the vertical support of the elastomeric bearing.  Fully tested with research from 2010, Damptech's RFID (Rubber Bearing Friction Damper) is well suited for buildings base isolation, bridge base isolation, and isolation of non-structural components.
